International Students Visit School Of Robotics (SOR) for a Hands-On Learning Experience

It was a wonderful day at the School Of Robotics (SOR) as we welcomed a group of international students for a 2-hour Robotics & Coding Workshop as part of their Singapore Learning Journey Programme.

For many of the students, this was their first time exploring the exciting world of robotics. From the moment they stepped into our classroom, there was a sense of curiosity and excitement as they got ready to build, code, and discover what their robots could do.

For many of the students, this was their first robotics & coding workshop and an exciting introduction to the world of robotics. As they began the workshop course, the classroom was filled with curiosity and enthusiasm. From building their first robots to learning basic coding concepts, every activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on discovery as students explored what their robots could do.

Learning by Building, Coding and Exploring

With guidance from our trainers, the students began by building a basic robot before learning how to programme it to perform different movements and complete simple tasks.

As the session progressed, the classroom was filled with smiles, teamwork, and exciting moments of discovery. Students experimented with new ideas, solved challenges together, and celebrated each achievement as they developed confidence through hands-on learning.

The Excitement of the Sumo Bot Challenge

The highlight of the workshop was undoubtedly the Sumo Bot Challenge!

With their robots ready, the students eagerly put their coding skills to the test as the robots faced off in a series of friendly matches. The room quickly filled with laughter, cheers, and excitement as everyone encouraged one another and celebrated every victory—big or small.

More than just a competition, the challenge showed the students the importance of testing, improving, and trying again. Every adjustment they made helped them learn something new, making the experience both educational and incredibly enjoyable.
