Lego Robotics Workshop (Wednesdays)

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Schedule: First Half Session: 10:30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Lunch Break: 12.30 p.m. - 1.30 p.m. (Free Lunch provided!) Second Half Session: 1.30 p.m. - 3.30 p.m. In this robotics workshop, participants will be introduced to mechanical concepts such as gear configurations and stable structuring. They will effectively integrate these principles into their robot designs as they create robots that can race, climb and even wrestle. Following the phases of design, construction, and coding, a culminating internal competition will take place, allowing participants to showcase their skills and compete for recognition as the top robot designer. A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the tasks of the day! Class details are as following: 29/05/2024 Week1 Gearing Up for Roborace & Roboclimb Teaching the students the concepts of different gearing and how to make the robot move fast and powerful, and then using WeDo to build a racing robot and a climbing robot. 05/06/2024 Week2 Sumo Robot Slamdown Introducing the concept of sumo-wrestling in robotics, building and programming their own sumobots, and then face off in a elimination bracket tourney. 12/06/2024 Week3 Legobot Jousting Similar to sumobots, but instead of knocking each other out of the ring, students will build and program their robots to knock off a target point that will be placed on their robots. 19/06/2024 Week4 Sumo Robot Slamdown Introducing the concept of sumo-wrestling in robotics, building and programming their own sumobots, and then face off in a elimination bracket tourney.
